Families moving into new homes in Meridian ID may be pleasantly surprised to find many free things to do. Meridian and the surrounding Treasure Valley region have parks, nature reserves, and other free family entertainment and relaxation resources.

Here are some of our favorite free things to do in Meridian ID:

Settlers Park

Active families will find plenty to do at this large park with eight ball fields, two tennis courts, horseshoe courts, disc golf, walking and biking paths, and a fishing pond. In the summer, kids can cool off in the splash pad.

Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park

This popular destination covers 65 acres and includes unique features and traditional park amenities. It has a labyrinth for meditational walking and the usual meandering paths. Plant lovers will enjoy the community garden and arboretum. There’s also an amphitheater, playgrounds, sand volleyball, pickleball, bocce, a half basketball court, and two fishing ponds.

Discovery Park

Expansion is underway at Discovery Park, adding new features, including a bike park, skate park, sand volleyball, pickleball, bocce, tennis courts, basketball court, and more. Existing facilities include ball fields, walking paths, a climbing wall, a zip line, a splash pad, sand and water play areas, a dog park, and a concession stand.

Storey Bark Park

Meridian has free fun for pets, too! The Story Bark Park has play areas for small and large dogs, picnic tables, and paths for walking or biking.

Initial Point Gallery

Art lovers may want to stop in frequently to enjoy the free exhibits at this art gallery in Meridian City Hall. Rotating exhibits and local artists are featured regularly.
