Fun winter activities are within easy reach of our Cartwright Ranch community of homes in Boise ID. Whether you want to take the whole family out for a day in the snow or you prefer to spend an afternoon gift shopping on your own, you can find it all just minutes from home.

Snow sports

Bogus Basin is a 2,600-acre public recreation area 16 miles from downtown Boise. This popular destination offers Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing and hiking. You can purchase a season pass, rent equipment, take lessons and even have a bite to eat.

Ice skating

Enjoy gliding across the ice at one of three local venues: Ice World on Eisenman Road in Boise, Caldwell Ice Ribbon at Indian Creek Plaza, and the Village in Meridian, Idaho. Note that you’ll need to reserve a time slot to skate at the Village.

Holiday Lights

Get in the holiday mood by experiencing an enchanting holiday light display. Winter Garden Aglow at Idaho Botanical Gardens features more than 400,000 lights. The Village at Meridian combines lights with a water show. Scentsy Commons Christmas Lights has 724,000 lights and 450 trees. Christmas in Color is a drive-through animated light show in Garden City.

Shopping

Pick up unique holiday gifts at Boise Farmers Market, Boise Co-op or in the shops in downtown Boise. Carriage rides are offered downtown during the holiday season.
